Bio
Paul Twomey is a distinguished fellow at CIGI. He co-founded Stash, a datacentric security and data management company; is a founding figure and former CEO of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers; and founded Argo P@cific, a cybersecurity consulting firm for governments and Fortune 500 companies worldwide. He was formerly the CEO of the Australian government’s National Office for the Information Economy and the federal government’s special adviser for the information economy and technology. As well, Paul was executive general manager of the Australian Trade Commission from 1994 to 1997, and a senior consultant with McKinsey & Company.
A recognized thought leader, Paul is the chairman of CyberGreen Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a public health approach to improving global cybersafety. He is also a member of the Global Information Infrastructure Commission and served on the Global Commission on Internet Governance. He is co-chairman of the Digital Economy and Future of Work Task Force for the Think20 organ of the Group of Twenty. Paul holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge.
