Bio

Laurence Deschamps-Laporte is an assistant professor of political science and scientific director of the Montreal Centre for International Studies at l’Université de Montréal. She has advised three Canadian foreign ministers, serving as chief of staff in 2019–2020. Previously, she was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, where she primarily served philanthropic and public sector organizations worldwide. Laurence holds a D.Phil. and an M.Phil. from the University of Oxford where she was a Rhodes Scholar. She recently published “Le retour au terrain comme condition de déploiement d’une politique étrangère féministe canadienne” (Returning to the Field as a Condition for the Implementation of a Canadian Feminist Foreign Policy) in Études Internationales.
