Bio
Jean-Frédéric Morin is a CIGI senior fellow and a full professor at Laval University. He is an expert on international institutions, and his research examines their design, trajectories and interactions. He is especially interested in examining how institutions govern the intersections between trade and the environment and between outer space and the environment.
Jean-Frédéric is the founding director of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Global Governance at Laval University. He has also developed several large data sets on international institutions including the Space Actors and Governance Explorer and the International Environmental Agreements Database.
Jean-Frédéric is also a fellow of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, an honourary professor at the Australian National University and a member of the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists, as well as several academic committees including the steering committee of the Environmental Politics and Governance network, the scientific steering committee of the Earth System Governance Project and the executive committee of the Environmental Studies Section, to which he was elected.
He is also an editorial board member of the journal Global Environmental Politics and associate editor of the journal Earth System Governance.
