As the NATO Summit nears, the proposed hike in defence spending to 5 percent from 2 percent is expected to be a key issue, especially for Canada, with Prime Minister Mark Carney’s recent announcement of Canada greatly increasing military spending to 2 per cent of GDP.

Toronto Star's Althia Raj spoke to Raquel Garbers on 'It's Political' podcast to know more about the Canada's military relationship with the US and the possible consequences of Canada lessening its reliance on America.
